Inside Qatar-France ties as Macron’s Gulf tour seeks energy and defence deals

French President Emmanual Macron has arrived in Bahrain as part of his three-day tour of the Gulf.
He is due to meet Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The Iran war is threatening regional security and disrupting energy exports.
Macron is hoping to strengthen defence ties and secure oil and gas supplies.
He will be arriving in Qatar later on Tuesday. He has already visited Kuwait and the UAE.
